WHAT IS SMP?
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) is a non-invasive hair loss solution that creates the illusion of fuller hair.
Using specialized pigments and precise techniques, SMP replicates the look of natural hair follicles on the scalp so it resembles a shaven stubble look. This is done using specialised needles that only penetrate through the first layer of skin (The Epidermis.) Unlike conventional Tattoos SMP does not draw blood making it a safe option!
Unlike conventional tattoos, SMP employs finer needles and pigments designed to mimic hair rather than creating permanent artwork. WHAT IS SMP or HAIR TATTOO?

DOES IT LOOK NATURAL?
We take pride in your look; making sure all aspects are considered in what's going on with your scalp. This can be scars, thinning patches, bald/sparse areas including blemishes and dark spots. The hairline being the most prominent part, during your consultation each client is taken through what is best so both parties are happy to proceed. Making it to your liking comes natural to us, so YES.
DOES IT HURT WHEN HAVING SMP?
Far too strong a word when 8 out of 10 people find it harmless and sit there watching films on our fire stick. Others may find a discomfort, compared with small splinter but on the whole its harmless. Numbing cream & moisturizer are massaged into form increased elasticity reducing discomfort even further. We shall definitely advise on good prep for your SMP ensuring you have the best experience possible.
WHAT IS THE COST OF SMP?
This can vary depending on what size area your specifically treating. Prices are based on a Norwood scale of baldness for men. Prices can start from £300 for small area treatments and up to £3000 in extreme Norwood 7 scale. Work on scars, burns bald patches are Price On Application. Prices are based on a 3 Stage/Step treatment plan so cost are discussed during your consultation, so you'll most certainly know prior to service.
CAN I HIDE MY HEAD SCARS WITH SMP?
Scar coverage is something that can certainly be done, not to hide but camouflage. During your consultation these aspect will be addressed and together with your SMP consultant you can decide based upon the scalp and hair darkness. This will ensure the best choice can be mad for seamless blending, in density and colour.

LETS TALK:
At MANSCAVE, the SMP journey begins with a detailed consultation. During this session, we assess your specific needs, goals, hair color, and skin tone. This personalized approach allows us to design a customized treatment plan that perfectly matches your expectations, ensuring optimal results for your scalp micropigmentation.
Step 2
LINE IT UP:
Your first SMP session starts with thorough cleaning and preparation of the scalp. In this session, we establish the basic shape and hairline, beginning with a lighter and less dense application to gradually build your desired look. We provide specific aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing. Your second treatment will be scheduled 7-14 days after this session to continue the process.
Step 3
SHAPE, FORM, DENSITY:
In your second SMP session at MANSCAVE, we evaluate the healing process and pigment retention from the first session. Our practitioner then adds another layer of pigment, enhancing the initial foundation and creating more density, bringing the appearance of hair follicles to life. We provide updated aftercare instructions to ensure optimal recovery and maintain your results. Your third treatment is typically scheduled 14-21 days after this session.
Step 4
ALL IN THE DETAIL:
In this session, we assess the healing & development of the previous treatments to ensure the pigment has settled properly. We focus on the finer details, filling in any remaining areas & adjusting the colour or shape as needed to achieve a seamless, natural appearance. A comprehensive review to ensure your complete satisfaction with the final results, making any last-minute adjustments if necessary. You will also receive long-term care instructions to preserve the optimal appearance of your SMP treatment.

Portraits being his iconic pieces of art; that could challenge the best of any painting artist. His surreal life-like hair designs done to precision that leaves no room for error, all done with a clipper/trimmer! Its no wonder why SMP is no challenge for MK.
Easy To Work With
Trimmers used to create hair designs always keeping in mind a few things whilst working, using this type of clipper.
But....
Two angles to work with, angle of creation & angle of direction.
Only able to work two or three teeth of the trimmer whilst keeping the rest of the blade out of the way to ensure precision.
Side to side pivoting vibration, challenging the precision control.
Hair types challenging precision due to length, texture, density & curl pattern.
Room temperature or client temperature affecting the ease of execution due to hair becoming sticky from perspiration.
No room for error; would need to wait for 2/3 weeks for hair to grow back to rectify. The inconvenience of starting all over again.
The hair trimmer are more than double the weight of the needles used for SMP.
Easier To Work With
SMP needles are crafted for pin point accuracy as it has an almost surgical needle. This makes it so much easier to create & mimic follicles dots.
No buts....
The needle only goes up and down much faster than a clipper at 65rpm. The SMP needle is at 100rpm & is moving in the direction of the to be created follicle dot on the scalp. Again making it easier to control for precision.
Around the tip is see through allowing you to see exactly when the needle is going to penetrate the scalp for pin point accurate precision.
The SMP needle is only 90g as apposed to a trimmer used for hair design that is 182g. Making it far easier to control & hold for long periods of time!
Petite and more ergonomically designed for fingers, like a pen for better grip. Unlike hair trimmers that tend to be straight and not curved for finger placement!
